Khair Technical Society had been established with a positive motive of doing charitable work for the underprivileged communities of society. With full-fledged operations in and around Domariyaganj district in UP, the society is registered under the categories of educational, economic, social and cultural under the FCRA.
The history of establishment of society is related to Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, the Secretary of the society, who was a neighborhood of this medical community as a really reputed doctor of the 1970s within the entire district of Siddhartha Nagar, U.P. which was previously, a part of the Basti district. Since he was related to the said profession, he was considerably conscious of the health, literacy, social, economic background of the encompassing area’s people and constant challenges faced by them. The people of those areas are illiterate and mostly belong to the downtrodden level, low level income people, orphans, widows due to various circumstances live below the poverty level.
The villagers lack from necessary medical care, due to which the survival rate of those said villagers was declining marginally. Mr Khan gave it a significant thought, contemplating upon the way that he should put forth this altruistic plan to handle the problems running in surroundings. In this way, he got affected and inspired to begin the noble work by finding a successful non-profit organization. The combined union of connected people to this noble work decided mutually to give this alliance a name as “Khair Technical Society”, which was finally registered under the India Societies Act 1860 on the 4th of April, 1995. And it had been later registered under the FCRA, 1976 with Registration no. 137360002.
The campus of KTS is spread over 20 acres and is situated at different places in the state to offer modern as well as traditional education. Traditional education is in the form of Learning and understanding the holy book i.e. The Quran Sharif and thereby adopting to the principles of Islam and its culture. It teaches the children to be good human beings and follow the principles of leading a balanced and honest life as per the directions provided in the holy scriptures. The campus also has Masjid and Maktab for education purposes and also has a huge number of support staff including teachers of both traditional and modern education.
While he was engrossed with pursuing the charity work all by himself, he felt the necessity for a society that would be more resourceful and do the work better than what he could treat just himself. The thought behind the creation of society was to uplift the lives of underprivileged villagers especially children and backward women in and around the Siddhartha Nagar and nearby districts of Uttar Pradesh. Spreading the thought, he raised a discussion with the foremost reputed personnel of the district and neighbouring areas of Domariyaganj. He raised the concerns and convinced people positively who would really like to contribute and become an active part of the charity work. His thought was very noble & motivating that he always used to convey- “Hum kha le aur padosi bhukha rah jaye to hum logo ko Allah ko jawab dena hoga”. With this inspiring thought in mind and zeal of working for welfare of people, work get set in motion. A series of Society Meetings were conducted where issues had been raised and all possible suggestions were welcomed on board. The solutions which are fit on various parameters as economical, stability, feasibility, get finalized for upliftment programmes. With small initiatives like distribution of free medicines, free health consultancy and provision of free food to orphans brought a new ray of hope. The result was appearing soon with many helping hands and charity raising towards the Society. The dream of Mr. Khan had turned into reality with his noble efforts and positivity.
Functions of the Society
The Society runs orphange for boys and girls with facilities of offering food, shelter, clothing and education along with scholarship for their overall development and upbringing. The Society began to work on many programmes as educational drive, skill training, basic meal plan, clean water & sanitization drives. With rising popularity and people getting benefitted from the welfare programmes fundraising is also an important concern. The Society gradually get engaged in various upliftment drives as providing shelter, education, food for orphan girls and boys, financial assistance, scholarships to poor students, Skill training to widows and marriage assistance of poor girls.
Functional Programmes of the Society can be categorised as:
- Educational Programmes- Provide the basic level education programme to orphan children, underprivileged children and girl child. Facilitate High level degree to aspiring & meritorious students so that they can decide best for their future. A well-educated child can create more awareness in his surroundings.
- Accommodation Programmes- A child without parents need love, shelter and security. Society’s programmes are inherited to give shelter and secure feature to each orphan child residing in area. With accommodation, food, clean water, clothes, education all things are arranged for their overall nourishment. Repair of village homes, libraries & reading rooms, building community centre at various villages in backward areas that also provide help to widows and very poor section of the society looking for basic needs, food & shelter.
- Orphan Welfare program- Considering many circumstances of orphans, we came up with Orphan Welfare Programme that ensures support & nourishment for them. Programmes made for them offer a shelter to give them proper care, nurture & a family environment to ensure their holistic development.
- Sanitization and Clean Water Drives- The Society is additionally engaged in provisioning of sanitation, hand pumps etc., Awareness programmes are must part of drive to educate them about importance of hygiene and clean water.
- Vocational Training Programmes- Society is also running Government Affiliated ITI for industrial training for the underprivileged scholars. Skill training helps poor widows to earn a basic income and feed their kids and able to send them schools for a better life. It also gives them encouragement to do something better and understand the importance of education and hygiene.
- Awareness Programmes- To acquire the rights, one should know about them. For this awareness programmes run by society is very useful. The community get help to know about the way of living life and importance of education, healthy food, sanitization and clean water.
